Classroom-tested American history lessons revised Oct. 2009

The following multi-day and one-day lesson plans utilize literacy strategies to help students unlock meaning in the textbook and primary source readings. The following lessons were developed by MDUSD and UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project history teachers during the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Summer Institutes. The lessons will be taught in 5, 8, and 11th grade MDUSD classrooms during the 2009-2010 school year with follow-up meetings to discuss student progress and student work.
